Current and recent research interests:
The science underpinning Sustainable Forest Management of native forests, particularly the four main forest types that account for the majority of log and residual wood production in Victoria . These are Alpine Ash forests, Mountain Ash forests, High Elevation Mixed Species forests and Low Elevation Mixed Species forests. The silvicultural management of these highly variable forests has been the subject of on-going debate over my career, so I have a keen interest in contributing to the ecological, silvicultural and management knowledge which is essential for their informed management and the development of good environmental policy.
